A friend of mine was recently looking into universities in Spain, and I joined them in their research. I found that the University of Navarra’s official website is exceptionally well-made and comprehensive. Thinking there might be other students on this forum considering it, I decided to share my ‘virtual campus tour’ experience to hopefully save you all some time.
The homepage is unav.edu, and my first impression was that it’s clean and elegant, with a very modern design. You can switch the language in the top-right corner, with options for Spanish, English, and Basque, which is very friendly for international students. The site’s structure is clear, with all the main information concentrated in the top navigation bar, so you won’t get lost.

A Breakdown of Key Website Sections
For prospective international students, the most crucial sections of any university website—like those found in this An Overview of Spanish University Websites—are undoubtedly admissions and program information. I’ve broken down the key sections of the UNAV site to make them easier for you to navigate.
Key Areas to Focus On
- Admisión (Admissions): This is your starting point for applications. It contains all the requirements, procedures, deadlines, and fees for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. If you’re planning to apply, you must go through this section thoroughly!
- Grados y másteres (Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees): This is the “program supermarket” where you can find detailed information about each degree: curriculum, faculty, and career paths. The information is incredibly thorough—you can even find the syllabus for individual courses. To compare with other institutions, you can check resources like this comprehensive list of Spanish university websites.
- Vida universitaria (University Life): Don’t want to be just a bookworm? This section introduces you to the university’s clubs, sports activities, accommodation, and the city of Pamplona itself. It’s very helpful for getting a full picture of the school’s atmosphere.
I’ve created a simple table summarizing the paths to some useful pages, so you can easily find your way.
| Section | Key Content | Path |
| Undergraduate Admissions | Requirements, deadlines, tuition fees | Admisión > Grado |
| Master’s Admissions | Program list, application materials, contact info | Admisión > Máster |
| Campus Guide | Virtual tour, campus map | La Universidad > Campus |
| News & Events | Latest university news, academic lectures | Actualidad |
A quick tip: The website’s search function is also quite useful. If you can’t find specific information, just search with keywords for high efficiency. Additionally, many faculties have their own sub-sites with more specific details, which you can access from the program pages.
The University of Navarra’s website has one of the best user experiences I’ve seen among Spanish universities. The information is transparent, navigation is easy, and there aren’t a lot of unnecessary frills. Of course, this is just my personal opinion, and perhaps the University of Santiago de Compostela’s official website has its own drawbacks I haven’t noticed. Has anyone else applied to or is currently looking at this university? Feel free to share your thoughts and add more information in the comments below!
