Hey everyone! I’ve been a long-time lurker on the forums, and I’ve noticed more and more posts asking about UC3M. As a current student (an ‘old hand,’ you could say), I felt compelled to share my real experiences studying and living here. I hope this can be a helpful reference for future students, and maybe earn some points along the way.
I’m primarily based on the Getafe campus, which is the main hub for Social Sciences, Law, and Humanities. My first impression was that the academic atmosphere is incredibly strong! The library, in particular, is a landmark of UC3M—it’s both beautiful and highly functional. During exam weeks, finding a seat is nearly impossible. The university is very international; you’ll meet classmates from all over the world, which makes class discussions really interesting. Of course, this also means the language proficiency requirements are quite high.

When it comes to academics, I have to shatter some illusions: UC3M is definitely not a university where you can graduate easily! The curriculum at UC3M is packed, professors are demanding, and the amount of group work is overwhelming. To get good grades, you need to invest a significant amount of time and effort. This is especially true for Business and Economics majors, where the failure rate is not low. So, before you come, be mentally prepared to “study hard”.
A Brief Analysis of UC3M’s Main Campuses and Majors
To give you a clearer picture, I’ve made a simple table comparing UC3M’s main campuses. Students in different fields are assigned to different locations.
| Campus | Main Fields of Study | Features |
| Getafe | Social Sciences, Law, Humanities | Main campus, convenient living, amazing library |
| Leganés | Engineering, Sciences | Strong tech vibe, advanced facilities |
| Colmenarejo | Interdisciplinary Studies | Beautiful surroundings, relatively quiet, far from the city center |
UC3M is a university with very distinct pros and cons. It offers top-tier faculty, a strong academic environment, and an international perspective, but it also demands immense effort from you. If you are serious about pursuing higher education in Spain, then UC3M is definitely a challenge worth taking on. If you have any other specific questions, such as about UC3M’s cut-off scores, feel free to leave a comment below. I’ll do my best to reply when I see it!
