A Hands-On Review of Loewe’s New Barcelona Bag
Last weekend, while strolling down Passeig de Gràcia, I stopped by the Loewe store to check out their new collection. Honestly, the design of this series is quite interesting and differs from their previous classic styles. The sales associate mentioned it’s the main collection for this Autumn/Winter, inspired by the architectural lines of Barcelona. I took a few photos and noted down the prices and details as a reference for anyone considering a purchase.

Style and Price Comparison
This new line comes in three main sizes. I’ve put together a simple comparison table:
| Size | Price (€) | Best For |
| Small | 1,850 | Daily Commute |
| Medium | 2,350 | Dates & Socials |
| Large | 2,890 | Short Trips |
The sales associate recommended the medium size as the most practical. However, I personally think the small is better for everyday use, since you don’t need to carry that much stuff daily. The price is about 8% cheaper than on the official website, and you can save even more with a tax refund.
Material and Craftsmanship Details
The new model is made of calfskin, which feels incredibly soft. In terms of colors, they offer classic tan, black, and this season’s popular cream white and olive green. My favorite is the olive green one; it’s unique without being too flashy. The hardware is a matte gold finish, which I find more timeless than shiny hardware.
The stitching is very neat, and the lining is also genuine leather, not cheap fabric. The zipper is by YKK and glides smoothly. The only minor drawback is that the shoulder strap isn’t adjustable, but the staff said you can get it replaced with an adjustable one for free at their after-sales service.
In-Hand Feel and Practicality
I tried on the medium size, and the capacity is decent. It can fit a phone, wallet, makeup pouch, and a water bottle, but it would be a tight squeeze for an iPad. The bag itself isn’t too heavy, around 500 grams, so it should be comfortable to carry all day.
The bag has a very structured shape and won’t sag over time like some soft leather bags. There are four metal feet on the bottom to protect it from scuffs when placed on surfaces. It’s a thoughtful detail, especially for a bag at this price point, as you’d want it to last.
Buying Advice
If you’re in Barcelona or another Spanish city, I highly recommend visiting a physical store to see it in person. The online pictures can be deceiving; the olive green, for instance, is much deeper in reality. Also, they currently have a promotion where you get 5% off when you buy two or more items. It’s a good opportunity if you’re also looking at other things, like Loewe perfumes or want to explore more about Loewe’s Barcelona colors.
Overall, this new design is stylish, and the craftsmanship justifies the price. My only concern is whether it will become too common in a few years, as Loewe’s popularity continues to grow. What do you all think of this collection? If you’ve already bought one, please share your experience!
