I’ve been house hunting recently, and my eyes are practically going square from staring at screens. So, I took the opportunity to dive deep into the most popular property apps on the Spanish market. Here’s my personal take on them, hoping it can help fellow house hunters on their journey!

A Showdown of the Top Real Estate Apps
Idealista: The Undisputed King
I doubt anyone hasn’t heard of this one. It has the most extensive and comprehensive listings, making it the top choice whether you’re buying, renting, or looking for an office. The app’s interface is very intuitive, and its filtering capabilities are powerful—you can pinpoint properties by area, price, property type, and even whether there’s an elevator. The ‘draw on map’ feature is particularly useful, allowing you to circle your desired neighborhood to search. The only downside is that because it’s so popular, good listings get snapped up incredibly fast. Also, you might occasionally find that some information on Spanish real estate apps isn’t updated in real-time.
Fotocasa: A Formidable Challenger
Fotocasa is Idealista’s main competitor, and it also boasts a substantial number of listings. Personally, I find its interface a bit more modern than Idealista’s, and the images seem to load a little faster. Sometimes, you’ll find properties on Fotocasa that aren’t listed on Idealista, so I recommend using both apps simultaneously to cross-reference and ensure you don’t miss out on a great opportunity.
Other Options: Habitaclia & Pisos.com
These two apps are less well-known but serve as excellent supplements. Habitaclia, in particular, seems to have a very high penetration rate in the Catalonia region. Pisos.com is a more established website where you might find some exclusive listings or properties that agents only post there, similar to some US real estate apps. While its interface might feel a bit outdated, a quick browse now and then could lead to a pleasant surprise.
I’ve put together a simple table below to summarize my experience:
| App Name | Number of Listings | User-Friendliness | Key Features |
| Idealista | Highest | ★★★★☆ | Map drawing search, mortgage calculator |
| Fotocasa | Very High | ★★★★★ | Modern interface, exclusive listings |
| Habitaclia | Region-specific | ★★★☆☆ | Strong in Catalonia |
| Pisos.com | High | ★★★☆☆ | Established site, potential hidden gems |
House hunting is a marathon, not a sprint. I recommend using Idealista and Fotocasa as your primary tools. Download them, set up your filters, and enable new listing alerts. Also, communicate frequently with real estate agents and be patient. I wish you all the best in finding your dream home soon! Have you used any other great apps? Feel free to share them in the comments!
