Lately, I’ve noticed more and more friends in online forums discussing buying property, with lively conversations ranging from choosing neighborhoods to mortgage policies. When I first arrived in Spain, I was also completely lost, constantly jumping between different websites. So today, I’ve decided to compile a list of the most reliable Spanish property websites I’ve used over the years, hoping to offer a little help to those of you on your house-hunting journey.
Major Spanish Real Estate Platforms
When it comes to searching for property in Spain, you can’t really get around the two giants: Idealista and Fotocasa. These platforms are the undisputed leaders in the market, covering the vast majority of resale properties, new developments, and even rentals across Spain. Both their apps and websites are very well-developed and updated frequently. I personally prefer using Idealista, as I find its filtering options and map search mode more powerful, especially the ‘draw an area on the map to search’ feature—it’s a real game-changer!

I’ve put together a simple comparison table below to give you a more intuitive overview of the features of these major platforms. Of course, this is just based on my personal experience, and I welcome any additions or corrections.
| Website | Listing Volume | Key Features | Personal Review |
| Idealista | Very Large | Draw-on-map search, price trend charts, virtual tours | Most comprehensive features, great user experience, also has the most ads |
| Fotocasa | Large | Video tours of properties, school district filter | Clean interface, also a very reliable choice |
| Habitaclia | Substantial | Mainly focused on Catalonia and the Balearic Islands | A must-see if you’re looking at Spanish property websites in areas like Barcelona |
Other Platforms Worth Checking Out
Besides the ones mentioned above, Pisos.com is another long-standing property portal. While its interface might feel a bit dated compared to other websites for buying property in Spain, you can occasionally find exclusive listings on it. Additionally, if you’re interested in finding bank-repossessed properties, you can check the real estate platforms of major banks, such as Servihabitat, Haya Inmobiliaria, and others. However, these types of properties can be more complicated and require more thorough research.
Viewing properties online is just the first step. After finding a place you like, the most important things are conducting on-site visits and having professionals inspect it. I hope these websites can be great tools on your journey to finding a home in Spain! Wishing you all the best in finding your Dream House soon! 🏡
