It wasn’t an issue when we were younger, but now that my parents are getting older, going up and down the stairs every day is becoming a strain. We’re considering installing a home lift as a long-term solution. When we first started looking, we were clueless, but after some research, it seems best to start with local Spanish brands.
Initially, we also considered international giants like Otis and Kone, but after making some inquiries, we found that for small residential lifts, their prices are either very high or their model selections are limited. In contrast, the local Spanish brands feel more practical for the market here. Their service networks are spread across the country, which should guarantee a faster response for future maintenance. After all, this is a long-term investment; installation is a one-time thing, but maintenance is forever.
Research on Mainstream Local Spanish Brands
I’ve focused on two companies with a significant market share in Spain:
Orona
This is a long-established Spanish brand from the Basque Country, operating as a large cooperative. My impression is that their technology is very mature, and they have a comprehensive product line, covering everything from commercial to residential use. Their traction lift technology seems to have a good reputation for being smooth and energy-efficient. After asking for a quote, the price seems to be in the mid-range, offering decent value for money.
Enor
Also a major Spanish manufacturer, headquartered in Vigo. Their products seem to have a stronger design focus, with many customization options for the car. The sales representative mentioned that their hydraulic technology is very reliable, especially suitable for retrofitting older houses that lack sufficient headroom and pit depth. However, their prices are slightly higher than Orona’s. I initially considered another company, but later found their business focus isn’t on residential lifts.

My feeling is that if your house has a standard structure and you’re looking for value for money and convenient future maintenance, Orona might be a safe bet. If you have higher aesthetic requirements, or if the house structure is unique and needs a flexible solution—a common challenge for Spanish chalet developers—then Enor is more worth considering. We’re still undecided. Has anyone here actually installed either of these brands or others?
