I’ve been living in Spain for several years and have a regular routine of skin management and light aesthetic treatments. When I first arrived, I was completely in the dark and didn’t know where to find reliable clinics. I’ve made a few missteps along the way but have also gained some valuable experience. Lately, I’ve seen many people in the forums discussing this topic, so I decided to start a thread to share what I’ve learned and a few aesthetic clinics I’ve visited and found to be quite good. I hope this can help everyone.

How to Choose a Reliable Aesthetic Clinic
In Spain, aesthetic medicine is considered a medical field, so for aesthetic procedures in Spain
, it’s crucial to find a properly licensed clinic and doctor! Never opt for a cheap beauty salon or an unlicensed private studio. A trustworthy institution will, first and foremost, have registered doctors with master’s degrees or professional experience specifically in aesthetic medicine. Additionally, the clinic’s environment, equipment, and the brands of products they use are all very important. During the consultation, don’t hesitate to ask a lot of questions. A professional doctor will be very patient and provide reasonable suggestions based on your specific needs, rather than just pushing treatments on you.
A Few Clinics I’ve Visited or Researched
I’m mainly based in Madrid and Barcelona, so I’ll focus on these two cities. The following is purely a share of my personal experience and does not constitute any medical advice
! Everyone’s experience can be different, so it’s essential to do your own research and have a personal consultation before making a decision.
Clínica Menorca: This clinic is very well-known and quite large in Madrid. They offer a comprehensive range of services, from skincare and laser treatments to injectables and plastic surgery. I’ve had a few photorejuvenation treatments there, and I found their equipment to be modern and the doctors very professional. The advantage is the wide variety of options, like a one-stop shop for aesthetic medicine. However, because it’s so large, the service can sometimes feel a bit formulaic. The prices are in the mid-to-high range, but you get peace of mind.
Clínica Planas: If Menorca is the one-stop shop, then Planas is the luxury boutique. This clinic is famous not just in Barcelona but throughout Europe, especially as a top-tier institution for plastic surgery. The environment and service are both excellent, and the doctors are highly experienced. A friend of mine had an eye procedure here, and the results were very natural. Of course, the prices are also quite high. If you have a sufficient budget and are looking for a top-tier experience and technique, this clinic is worth considering. Their website is very well-done and provides comprehensive information.
| Clinic Name | City | My Impression | Price Level |
| Clínica Menorca | Madrid | Comprehensive, large-scale, professional & reliable | Mid-High |
| Clínica Planas | Barcelona | Top-tier experience, strong in surgery | High |
| Tufet | Barcelona | Excels in skin and laser treatments | Mid-High |
| Diego de León | Madrid | Chain clinic, many promotions, good value | Medium |
The aesthetic medicine industry in Spain is generally very regulated and mature. When making a choice, read plenty of Google reviews, compare several clinics, and most importantly, go for a consultation to speak with the doctor. I hope everyone can achieve their beauty goals safely in Spain! Feel free to add your own suggestions and discuss in the comments below, sharing any great places you know! Wishing us all to become more and more beautiful!
