Why Choose a Hospital Over a Beauty Salon?
Initially, I wondered if going to a beauty salon would be cheaper, but after some research, I felt it wasn’t a safe bet. Teeth are part of your body, after all, not like getting your nails done—professionalism is crucial. Dental clinics and the dental departments of private hospitals in Spain are highly regulated. The dentists are licensed, and the equipment and materials they use are certified. If any issues like allergies or discomfort were to arise, a hospital could handle them immediately. That’s why I ultimately chose the dental department of a well-regarded private hospital in Madrid.
The Treatment Process and My Experience
I opted for the popular Luz Fría (cold light whitening) method. The entire procedure took a little over an hour. The dentist started with a thorough cleaning and polishing of my teeth. Then, they applied a protective gel to my gums before coating my teeth with the whitening agent. Next came the blue cold light lamp, which was applied in three sessions of about 15 minutes each. I felt a slight tingling and sensitivity, especially during the last session, but it was completely tolerable. Afterwards, the dentist checked the shade chart, and wow, my teeth were about 5 shades whiter! The results were truly stunning

After the treatment, the dentist gave me some aftercare advice. For the first 48 hours, I had to avoid colored foods and drinks like coffee, tea, cola, and soy sauce. My teeth were a bit sensitive for the next few days, so it was best to consume lukewarm food and water. This sensitivity completely disappeared after two or three days.
