As I’m relatively new to Spain and my child attends an international school here, we’ve just reached the time when results are released. I’ve noticed many parents in our community chats asking how to check grades, and after doing some research, I’ve figured it out. I thought I’d put together a guide to share my experience with other families facing the same issue, to help save everyone some trouble.

A Guide to Checking Results for Major International Curricula
The main international curricula in Spain are the IB and the British A-Level system. Each system has completely different methods, websites, and timelines for checking results. It’s important not to get them mixed up.
Checking IB Results
IB results are released globally and officially by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Schools typically provide each student with a Personal Code and a PIN beforehand. Having these two codes is essential for checking your results!
- Official Website: https://candidates.ibo.org/
- Release Date: Usually on July 5th or 6th each year. The specific time, often down to the minute, will be announced by the IBO for that year.
- How to Check: Go to the website, log in by entering your Personal Code and PIN, and you will be able to see your detailed scores for each subject and your total points for [international schools in Spain]. The website can sometimes be slow due to high traffic, so just try refreshing a few times if needed.
Checking A-Level Results
The A-Level system is a bit more complex because there are several different examination boards, such as Cambridge International, Edexcel, and others. You first need to find out which examination board’s system your child’s school uses.
| Examination Board | How to Check Results |
| Cambridge International | The school usually provides a dedicated website link for logging in to check results. Grades are typically released in mid-August. |
| Edexcel | The school can download results via the Edexcel Online system and then distribute them to students. Individual students may not be able to check online directly, as the international school grade requirements for access might vary, so you’ll need to wait for the school’s notification. |
| AQA | Results are also released in mid-August, and the method for checking primarily depends on the school’s notification. |
Important Note: Regardless of the system, your school is the primary source of information. Before results day, it’s best to confirm the specific procedure and timing with the school’s Academic Coordinator or homeroom teacher. Sometimes, schools release official report cards slightly later than the online portal, which may include more detailed internal assessments and notes on the [Spanish international school rankings]. I hope this information is helpful to everyone, and I wish all the students the best of luck with their results!
