I’ve been looking at schools for my child here in Madrid, and it’s been quite overwhelming. After looking through all the established British and American international schools, I recently discovered a newcomer: the International School of Milan. The name sounds interesting—an Italian-backed school opening in Spain. It’s quite intriguing.

I took a look at their official website, and the facilities look fantastic. Being a new school, the campus design is very modern and artistic, unlike some of the older, more dated schools. They claim to bring Italian design, innovation, and educational philosophy to Madrid, which sounds very appealing. The curriculum is the standard IB program, which is consistent with other major international schools, so there are no worries about academic continuity.
Quick Overview of Key School Information
I’ve compiled some key information from their website into a simple table for your reference. There might be some discrepancies, and for the most accurate details, it’s always best to check the official information from the International School of Milan; you should always confirm with the school directly.

My Concerns and Questions
The advantages of a new school are new facilities and fresh concepts, but the disadvantages are also quite apparent. For instance, what will the initial student body and teaching staff actually be like? A school’s culture and community take time to develop. Although they are part of an educational group with 70 years of history, the Madrid campus is, after all, brand new. Also, how will the ‘Italian educational character’ specifically manifest? Will there be a special emphasis on art and design courses?
So, I wanted to ask the wonderful community here: has anyone already applied or attended one of their Open Days? Or perhaps someone is familiar with other schools under this educational group? Please share your honest feedback! Information on things like teacher backgrounds, the approximate range of tuition fees, or the student interview experience would be incredibly helpful. Any information is valuable, thank you all in advance!
