Hello to all my fellow Spain enthusiasts! It’s been a while. Lately, as the weather in Wuhan gets warmer, I’ve found myself suddenly craving that sunny taste of Spain—especially the golden paella and all kinds of tapas. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! As a dedicated foodie, I sprang into action and scoured the city for Spanish restaurants. Today, I’m sharing the delicious results of my exploration with you all.
First up is AGUA Spanish Restaurant. This place is a well-known classic for Spanish food in Wuhan, located in Wuhan Tiandi. The ambiance is fantastic—very romantic and perfect for a date night or anniversary. Their signature dish is the seafood paella. The rice soaks up all the seafood broth beautifully, and it has that perfect crispy layer (socarrat) at the bottom. They’re very generous with the ingredients. The Jamón Ibérico is also high-quality. Pair it with a glass of Sangria, and you’ll feel like you’ve been instantly transported to Barcelona. However, the price, as you might expect, is a bit on the pricey side per person.

If you’re looking for Spanish food in Wuhan and want a more relaxed and casual spot to have a few drinks with friends, I’d recommend trying some of the smaller eateries that specialize in tapas. I previously visited a place called “Toro Tapas & Grill,” and it had a great atmosphere, much like a small tavern on a Spanish street. The garlic shrimp (gambas al ajillo) and Spanish omelette (tortilla de patatas) were very authentic, and the prices were much more affordable. You can order a whole table full of tapas and get stuffed on everything try a little bit of each—that’s the true spirit of tapas!
To make it easier for you to choose, I’ve made a simple table. This is purely my personal opinion, just for your reference.
| Restaurant Name | Signature Dish | Avg. Cost (Per Person) | Ambiance/Vibe |
| AGUA Spanish Restaurant | Seafood Paella, Jamón Ibérico | ¥300-400 | Elegant, great for dates |
| Toro Tapas & Grill | Garlic Shrimp, Spanish Omelette | ¥150-200 | Casual and relaxed, tavern-like feel |
So, that’s my humble sharing session. Wuhan is a big city, so there are surely other hidden gems of Spanish restaurants that I haven’t discovered yet. Feel free to add your suggestions and discuss in the comments section
