Just arrived in Spain or planning a move soon? Feeling overwhelmed by the house-hunting process? With so much scattered information, it’s hard to know where to start. I’ve been there and made my share of mistakes. Recently, while helping a friend, I decided to compile a list of the major real estate platforms I’ve used over the years. I’m sharing it with you all, hoping it can help you on your journey to find a new home!

A Roundup of Major Real Estate Platforms
When it comes to finding a property in Spain, you can’t go wrong with the following websites. Think of them as the Spanish equivalents of Zillow or Rightmove—they are the most centralized places for listings with the fastest updates. Whether you’re looking to rent, buy, or just want to check the property prices in a specific area, these platforms are your go-to source.
1. Idealista - The Undisputed King
This one has to be first on the list! Idealista is unquestionably the No.1 real estate website in Spain. In terms of the number of listings, city coverage, and user experience on both its website and app, it’s the best out there. You’ll find comprehensive listings for everything from big cities like Madrid and Barcelona to islands and small towns. Its search filters are also incredibly detailed, allowing you to narrow down results by area, price, property type, and even specific features like having an elevator or being furnished. Most landlords and agencies list their properties here, so I highly recommend starting your search with this platform
!

2. Fotocasa - The Strong Contender
Fotocasa is Idealista’s main rival and another massive, comprehensive property portal. Its interface and features are very similar to Idealista’s, and it also has a huge volume of listings. Sometimes, you’ll find landlords who only list on Fotocasa, so it’s wise to check both when browsing Spanish property buying websites
to ensure you get the most complete information. Personally, I feel that Fotocasa’s app notifications for new listings are a bit faster, which can be a real advantage when you’re trying to snag a great place.

Other Supplementary Platforms
Besides the two giants mentioned above, there are a few other platforms worth checking out. They can serve as good supplements and you might just discover some unique listings on them.
| Platform Name | Key Features | Official Website |
| Habitaclia | Particularly strong in the Catalonia region with concentrated listings | https://www.habitaclia.com/ |
| Pisos.com | An established nationwide site with a good number of listings | https://www.pisos.com/ |
| Yaencontre | Has a cleaner interface, a good alternative choice | https://www.yaencontre.com/ |
In summary, focus on Idealista and Fotocasa, using the others as supplementary Spanish real estate platforms, and you’ll basically cover over 95% of the public listings in Spain. A word of caution: when you find a property you like and contact the landlord or agent, be vigilant about verifying the information. Be especially wary of “perfect properties” priced far below the market rate, as they are likely scams you might encounter on any Spanish real estate websites. I hope everyone successfully finds their perfect home!
