Having recently moved to Spain, I’ve been thinking about buying my own little place to settle down. I’ve visited several agencies, and it feels like a pretty complex market. Last week, a friend recommended Palace Real Estate, saying they have a good reputation within the Chinese community. I decided to give them a try and contacted them. Today, I wanted to share my initial impressions with fellow community members and hear your opinions as well.
I was in contact with one of their consultants, Mr. Wang. He seemed very down-to-earth and didn’t start with an over-the-top sales pitch. I told him my budget is around €300,000 and that I’m primarily looking for a two-bedroom apartment for myself in Barcelona city or a well-connected surrounding area. He listened carefully to my requirements and then sent over several listings that matched my criteria. The information was quite detailed, even covering topics like foreclosed properties, and he listed the pros and cons for each, which made me feel they were quite reliable.

Over the weekend, we arranged to see two of the properties. One was in the Eixample district—an unbeatable location, but it was a bit old and would require significant renovation. The other was by the sea in Badalona; the apartment was much newer and in a nice complex, but the commute would be longer. The consultant accompanied me throughout and was very objective in his presentation. He didn’t try to hide the properties’ downsides, such as the old apartment’s soundproofing issues or the new one’s community fees. He gave me the impression that he’s interested in building long-term business relationships rather than just making a quick, dishonest sale, which I really appreciated.
When I returned, I organized the property listings recommended by a few agencies and made a simple comparison to clear my head. I even looked into guides for other areas, like this one about buying property in Madrid, to help me create my own comparison. Palace Real Estate didn’t provide the most listings, but they seemed well-curated and better aligned with my initial requirements.
| Agency Type | Number of Listings | Relevance | Service Experience |
| Major Local Spanish Agency | High | Average | Formal, less flexible |
| Palace Real Estate | Moderate | High | Smooth communication, patient |
| Other Small Chinese Agencies | Low | Low | Hit-or-miss quality |
So, my initial impression of Palace Real Estate is quite positive. However, buying a house is a huge decision, so I don’t want to rush into anything. I wanted to ask everyone here on the forum: has anyone dealt with this agency before? How are their services for mortgage applications and property transfer? Are there any pitfalls or things to watch out for? Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
