Having just arrived in Seville, I’ve been busy house hunting, and it’s been quite an ordeal. I’ve run into many pitfalls but also gained some valuable experience. Today, I want to share a few of the main Spanish property websites and apps I’ve used, hoping it can serve as a reference for others and help you have a smoother experience.

Main Property Platform Comparison
At first, I was completely lost. After asking local friends and doing some online research, I narrowed my focus to the following platforms. They each have their own features, and it’s best to use them in combination for the most comprehensive information.
Idealista
This is arguably Spain’s go-to property app, boasting the largest and most comprehensive selection of listings for both renting and buying, with very wide coverage. Its map search feature is particularly useful; you can draw a box around areas you’re interested in, like Triana or the Old Town, and the properties will be displayed visually. The downside is that because it’s so well-known, good listings get snatched up very quickly. Also, some listings are posted by agencies, so you need to screen them carefully. Personally, I find the Idealista app offers a better user experience than its website.
Fotocasa
Fotocasa and Idealista are the two main players, quite comparable in terms of features and number of listings. I feel that Fotocasa has a more modern interface design, and the photo quality is generally higher. It has an interesting feature that allows you to draw a circle to search for properties in a specific area. Sometimes you can find exclusive listings here that aren’t on Idealista. However, it also has many agency listings, so it’s best to check whether you’re contacting a private landlord or a real estate agent before reaching out.
Other Useful Platforms and Tips
Besides the two major platforms above, there are a few other niche but equally useful options.
| Platform Name | Key Features | Best For |
| Pisos.com | Also has many listings; it’s the third-largest platform. | As a supplement to Idealista and Fotocasa. |
| Habitaclia | Very strong in the Catalonia region, but has fewer listings in Andalusia. | Worth a look, you might find a hidden gem. |
| Milanuncios | Spain’s version of Craigslist; listings are mixed, but you can find direct rentals from private landlords. | Those with plenty of time who want to avoid agency fees. |
Finally, a few personal tips: if you see a property you like, you must call them immediately! Sending an email is like shouting into the void. Also, take a walk through neighborhoods you like. You’ll often see small “Se Alquila” (For Rent) signs with phone numbers on the doors of older buildings. These are often private landlords, and the prices for real estate in Seville might be more reasonable. I wish everyone the best in finding their dream home in beautiful Seville! ¡Suerte a todos
