When I first arrived in Spain, besides shopping at El Corte Inglés and Carrefour, the online platform I relied on most was Amazon. At first, I thought the interface wasn’t as flashy as the e-commerce apps back home, but after using it for a while, I discovered that Amazon.es is a lifesaver for lazy people—something I’m sure everyone living in Spain can relate to. Today, I’m here to share some of my tips for using Amazon Spain, hoping to help out newcomers.
Is a Prime Membership Really Worth It?
When you talk about Amazon, you can’t avoid discussing the Prime membership. At €49.90 per year, it’s not exactly expensive, but it’s not cheap either. However, when you do the math, I think it’s a great value for most people. The core benefit is, of course, the unlimited free next-day delivery service, which is a lifesaver for items you need urgently from Amazon in Spain. It also bundles Prime Video, Prime Music, and Prime Reading, and you occasionally get access to exclusive discounts. If you place a dozen or so orders on Amazon in a year, the shipping fees you save will pretty much cover the membership cost.

Money-Saving Shopping Tips
Besides the Amazon Spain Prime membership, there are many other ways to save money or find bargains on Amazon.es. Here are a few of my favorite tips:
- Warehouse Deals: This section sells returned items or products with slightly damaged packaging, but the items themselves are usually in good condition. The prices are significantly lower than brand new, making it ideal for buying small appliances or electronics where you don’t mind the packaging. It’s a great value.
- Keep an Eye on Black Friday and Prime Day: These are the two biggest sale events of the year. Black Friday, in particular, starts warming up in mid-to-late November, with many products hitting their all-time low prices. I recommend adding items you want to your cart in advance so you can easily track the price drops. You can save a lot of money!
- Subscribe & Save: For consumables like cat food, dog food, coffee capsules, or laundry detergent, you can use this service to get a 5% to 15% discount. Plus, you can cancel your subscription anytime on Amazon Spain. It’s incredibly practical for households.
Here are the key dates for the main sale events:
| Sale Event | Approximate Time |
| Prime Day | Usually in July |
| Back to School | Late August to early September |
| Black Friday | The fourth Friday of November |
| Cyber Monday | The Monday after Black Friday |
The functionality of Amazon.es is very powerful, and its logistics and customer service are top-notch in Europe. Although you might occasionally experience a lost package or a delivery delay, contacting customer service usually resolves the issue quickly.
