- A Spanish address: A delivery address is essential, of course. This can be your rented apartment or student dormitory.
- A valid payment card: This can be a debit or credit card from a local Spanish bank, or an internationally accepted card like Visa or Mastercard.
Detailed Registration Steps
Once you’re prepared, let’s get started. The whole process only takes a few minutes.
- Open the official website: First, enter
amazon.es in your browser to go to the Amazon Spain homepage. The site defaults to Spanish. If your Spanish isn’t great, you can hover over the flag icon and switch the language to English. Although there’s no Chinese, the English interface should be much more user-friendly for most people.
- Start registration: Click on
"Hola, identifícate. Cuentas y listas" in the top right corner of the page, and from the dropdown menu, select "¿Eres un cliente nuevo? Empieza aquí." (Are you a new customer? Start here.).
- Fill in your information: You’ll be redirected to the account creation page. Follow the prompts to enter your name, email address, and password. It’s recommended to create a strong password with a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Verify your email: After you’ve filled everything in, Amazon will send an email with a verification code to your registered address. Find this code in your inbox, enter it on the Amazon verification page, and click
"Crear tu cuenta de Amazon" (Create your Amazon account). And you’re done! Super simple, right? Note that while your Amazon account is global, Prime membership and shipping addresses are site-specific.
First Purchase and Address Setup
After successfully registering, don’t rush into shopping just yet. It’s a good idea to go to "Mi cuenta" (My Account) first to set up your shipping address and payment method. Click on "Tus direcciones" (Your Addresses) to add your Spanish address. Here’s a little tip for Amazon Spain: when filling out your address, besides the street and building number, it’s best to clearly include the Piso (floor) and Puerta (door/apartment number) to help the courier find you accurately.
