UV isn’t just one campus; it has three main ones spread across the city. When you apply for a program, make sure to check which campus your faculty is on. The Blasco Ibáñez campus has the most historic feel, hosting many humanities and medical programs. The surrounding area has a lively, local atmosphere and is very convenient. The Tarongers campus is more modern, home to Law, Economics, and Social Sciences, with newer architecture. Then there’s the Burjassot-Paterna campus in the suburbs, which is the hub for science and engineering. It’s very quiet, perfect for focusing on research, but it’s a bit of a commute to the city center.
Academically, UV is a well-established public university with a solid academic atmosphere. The professors teach almost exclusively in Spanish, so for the University of Valencia, language proficiency is paramount. The learning model here is quite different, requiring more proactivity and self-study. There’s a lot of group work, which is a great opportunity to practice your speaking skills and teamwork. At first, I was worried about not being able to contribute to discussions, but I found that as long as you make an effort to speak, the Spanish students are very friendly and welcoming. When choosing your courses, it’s a good idea to carefully review the syllabus to understand the grading criteria, which will be very helpful for your studies.
Cost of Living
When it comes to daily life, Valencia is definitely one of Spain’s most affordable cities! Compared to Madrid and Barcelona, rent and general prices are much more budget-friendly. I’ve put together a rough estimate of my personal monthly expenses to give you an idea:

The University of Valencia is an excellent choice to consider. Academically, it’s solid, and the lifestyle is wonderful.
