Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum and my head is spinning from all the information about master’s programs in Spain. I’ve spoken with a few education agents, and they are all aggressively recommending a school called EAE Business School. They praise it to the skies, claiming it’s a top European business school with great locations in Madrid and Barcelona, and an extremely high employment rate. To be honest, I’m a bit skeptical; it all sounds too much like a marketing pitch. That’s why I’ve come to the forum to ask if any seniors with experience in dual master’s programs at EAE University can share some insights?
Basic Information about EAE Business School
I’ve also done some research on my own. I found that EAE stands for Escuela de Administración de Empresas. From its name, it’s a private higher education institution specializing in business—what we would typically call a ‘business school,’ rather than a traditional, comprehensive public university like the Complutense University of Madrid or the University of Barcelona. I think it’s crucial to clarify this distinction first; it’s different from the concept of a ‘university.’
Campuses and Partner Institutions
It does have campuses in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain’s two largest cities, which is an undeniable plus for students wanting to experience urban life. I also found that the EAE Barcelona campus has a partnership with the renowned Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). For some master’s programs, graduates receive a degree from UPC, which is a huge advantage, given UPC’s solid reputation and strength. However, I’m not sure about the value of the master’s degrees awarded by EAE itself.

My biggest concern is degree accreditation. The good news is that I found EAE Business School listed on the Chinese Ministry of Education’s official website for foreign education supervision. This means its official master’s degrees can be accredited, which should be fine for pursuing public sector or state-owned enterprise jobs back home. However, when it comes to choosing between EAE Business School and a public university, opinions on the school’s reputation and student experience are mixed. I’ve seen some online reviews describing the courses as a bit ‘superficial’ and the atmosphere as overly commercialized. Here are some pros and cons I’ve summarized, but I’m not sure if they’re accurate:
| Pros | Cons |
| Excellent locations | Relatively high tuition fees |
| Focus on business, practical curriculum | Not a traditional comprehensive university |
| Official master’s degrees are accredited | Mixed reviews on student body and learning environment |
| Partnership with renowned public universities like UPC | Aggressive marketing, hard to verify information |
So, I’m really torn right now. Are there any current or former EAE students here, or anyone with friends who studied there? I’d love to hear your honest opinions. How is the teaching quality? What are the students like? Is the workload heavy? Do you feel you genuinely learn valuable things? Any advice on whether this significant investment is worthwhile would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to everyone
