Iberia Resumes Direct Flights from Madrid to Caracas
Iberia officially resumes its direct flight route from Madrid to Caracas on April 7, 2026. This move reopens a vital air link between Spain and Venezuela, marking the route’s return after a several-month suspension. The service will facilitate travel and business exchanges between the two countries.
Flight Operations and Schedule
Iberia plans to operate four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flights will use a leased Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with operational support provided by Privilege Style. This schedule has been announced on various platforms and confirmed by aviation law experts.
Background of the Suspension
The direct route was previously suspended in November 2025, primarily due to safety recommendations from the Spanish State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA). The resumption comes after conditions have gradually improved, following the lead of other Spanish airlines that had already restarted similar services.
Resumption Process and Collaboration
Iberia’s return further normalizes air connectivity between Spain and Venezuela. The route is now also served by a network of airlines including Laser Airlines, Estelar, Plus Ultra, and Air Europa, which collectively offer direct flight services.
Impact on Regional Connectivity
With the resumption of flights, the direct connection between the two locations is fully restored. This will strengthen the aviation network between Spain and the Latin American region, promoting travel and economic exchange, and demonstrating positive progress in regional cooperation through international air transport.
