Hey everyone, especially those of you heading to Cádiz or already on your way! I’ve been getting a lot of messages from new students asking where exactly the University of Cádiz is and if it’s just one location. I’m writing this to answer everyone at once and create a guide for future students. To sum it up in one sentence: UCA isn’t just a single building; it’s a ‘distributed’ university with campuses spread across the entire province of Cádiz. Mixing up the campuses can cause a lot of trouble!
Let’s start with the main campus, the Cádiz Campus. This campus is home to faculties like Humanities and Medicine, as well as the Rector’s Office. It’s scattered throughout the beautiful old town of Cádiz, which is gorgeous but can be a challenge for anyone who gets lost easily. The official address for the Rector’s Office is: Calle Ancha, 16, 11001 Cádiz. For your first visit, I recommend navigating directly to this address. Once you find the main building, it’ll be much easier to ask for directions to your specific faculty.

Besides the old town of Cádiz, UCA has three other major campuses: Puerto Real, Jerez, and Algeciras. The Puerto Real Campus, in particular, is the main hub for engineering and marine sciences. It’s a huge campus, more like a self-contained university town. If you mix up the campuses, you might find yourself on a train for over half an hour to get to the right University of Cádiz location, and don’t ask me how I know.
Main Functions of Each Campus
To make things clearer, I’ve put together a simple table so you can check your primary study location based on your major:
| Campus | Key Address Reference | Main Faculties/Functions |
| Cádiz | Calle Ancha, 16 | Philosophy and Arts, Medicine, Economics and Business Sciences, Labour Relations, Rector’s Office |
| Puerto Real | Av. República Saharaui, s/n | School of Engineering, Marine and Environmental Sciences, Education Sciences |
| Jerez | Av. de la Universidad, s/n | Social and Legal Sciences, Tourism, Marketing |
| Algeciras | Av. Ramón Puyol, s/n | Higher Polytechnic School, Nursing, Legal and Economic Studies |
One last tip: After you receive your acceptance letter or course registration, be sure to double-check the name and address of the specific building where your classes are held. University buildings in Spain have unique names, like Aulario, Edificio X, etc. Searching for the full building name on Google Maps is often more accurate than searching for the university’s general name. I hope this information helps everyone. Wishing you all the best with your studies and life in Cádiz! Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any questions!
