A Surprise Morning Landing on the Beach
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:30 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. A small boat made an unannounced landing directly on the renowned La Fossa Beach (Playa de la Fossa) in the tourist city of Calpe, Alicante. At the time, numerous local residents and international tourists were on the beach for their morning exercises, strolls, or swims, witnessing the entire event.
Remarkable Condition of the Arrivals

Around twenty migrants were on board. According to eyewitnesses, the majority were young men. Contrary to the typical image of exhausted refugees after a long journey, these individuals generally appeared to be in good physical condition upon disembarking. Some even seemed relaxed, with a few smiling and others taking out their phones to film and document their arrival.
Swift Response from Authorities
After receiving multiple emergency calls, officers from the Spanish Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) quickly arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers secured the group of newly-arrived migrants to prevent them from dispersing into the surrounding area. Following standard protocol for such incidents in Spain, the Guardia Civil has begun processing the individuals for identity verification, health checks, and temporary accommodation.
