Ranking Overview: Coca-Cola’s Strong Lead
According to the latest Spanish brand consumption ranking study by consulting firm Worldpanel by Numerator, Coca-Cola has once again established its dominance in Spain’s everyday consumer goods market. The report’s data shows the brand ranking first with a Consumer Reach Points (CRP) index of 121. Its products reach 67% of households nationwide and, through high purchase frequency, it continues to be the most frequently chosen brand by Spanish consumers.

The Top Ten: A Gathering of Food and Dairy Giants
Food and dairy giants hold a commanding presence in the top ten. Following Coca-Cola are local Spanish meat product brands El Pozo and Campofrío, along with dairy industry leaders Central Lechera Asturiana and Danone, forming the top tier of the ranking. Additionally, well-known brands such as Gallo, Casa Tarradellas, Don Simón, and Puleva are also firmly in the top ten. Notably, Danone’s dairy brand Activia has entered the top ten for the first time, reflecting the growing market potential for health-conscious products.
Competitive Landscape by Sector
An analysis of market competition across different categories reveals:
- Beverages: Coca-Cola’s lead is unshakable. Meanwhile, brands like Mahou, Fanta, and Aquarius also show strong market competitiveness, solidifying their respective consumer bases.
- Dairy: Central Lechera Asturiana continues to hold the top spot, with Danone and Puleva following closely, collectively dominating this market.
- Home & Personal Care: International brands like Fairy, Nivea, and Garnier maintain top positions in their respective market segments, leveraging their long-established brand credibility.
Market Trends: Local Brands and Emotional Connection
Overall, the top 50 brands in Spain account for nearly 99.6% of household shopping choices. A notable characteristic is the strong performance of local brands, with about 60% of the ranked brands originating from Spain. The report points out that despite the continued growth in market share for private labels (store brands) in recent years, leading brands like Coca-Cola and El Pozo, through high repurchase rates and the emotional connection they build with consumers, still hold an irreplaceable position in consumers’ minds and are a core force in the daily Spanish shopping basket.
