Barcelona on High Alert: Two Major Robberies in a Single Day Shock the City
Barcelona was rocked by two violent robberies targeting high-value businesses on the same day—one a ram-raid on a luxury store and the other an armed robbery at a jewelry shop—highlighting the city’s severe security situation and causing widespread public concern.
Dawn Raid: Famous Paseo de Gràcia Store Ram-Raided
Around 6 a.m., a violent robbery took place on Paseo de Gràcia, one of Barcelona’s most famous shopping streets. A group of thieves used the brute-force ‘ram-raiding’ method, driving a car directly through the glass storefront of the luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana’s flagship store.
After breaking in, the culprits quickly made off with a large quantity of high-value clothing and designer bags. Based on the scene, the gang appeared well-organized, switching to two other getaway vehicles after the heist and disappearing under the cover of the early morning darkness.
Daylight Robbery: Sant Adrià Jewelry Shop Raided at Gunpoint
A few hours later, another serious robbery occurred in Sant Adrià de Besòs, within the Barcelona metropolitan area. A man armed with a gun burst into a gold-buying shop (compraventa de oro) on Carrer del Bogatell.
According to witnesses, the robber used violent threats to carry out the robbery, stealing a batch of gold jewelry before quickly fleeing in a car. After being alerted, the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police) rushed to the scene and are now conducting technical analysis to determine if the firearm used was real.
Police in Pursuit as Security Concerns Mount

The Mossos d’Esquadra responded quickly to both incidents, but the suspects in both cases had already fled before officers arrived. Full-scale investigations into both robberies are now underway. Police are assessing the total value of the stolen goods and reviewing surveillance footage from surrounding areas to track the suspects.
Two targeted and violent robberies against high-value shops in a single day have sparked widespread anxiety among local business owners and residents about the deteriorating public safety situation. Various sectors of society are calling on authorities to take stronger measures to curb the rising crime rate.
