Iberia to Launch Direct Madrid-Seoul Route in June
Spanish airline Iberia has announced the official launch of a scheduled direct flight route from Madrid to Seoul, South Korea, starting in June 2025. This is the first time Iberia will offer non-stop service on this route, further expanding its Asian network.
New Route Details
According to Iberia’s official announcement, the new route is scheduled to begin operations on June 17, 2025, using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This model is known for its fuel efficiency and long-range capabilities, making it ideal for transcontinental routes between Europe and Asia. The service will operate three times a week, departing from Madrid on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and arriving in Seoul the next day. Return flights will depart from Seoul on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight time will be approximately 13 hours.
The launch of this new route signifies a deeper push by Iberia into the Asian market. Iberia already operates flights to Tokyo and Shanghai, and the addition of the Seoul route will allow the company to cover more major East Asian cities.
