An A-List Mission Across the Atlantic
Recently, Valencia-based barber Fernando Díaz caused a stir on social media with a series of photos. The images revealed his special trip to Atlanta, USA, in June to give haircuts to the Spanish national team players at their hotel while they prepared for a match. Stars such as Marc Cucurella, Pedri, Gavi, and Ferran Torres were featured in his work photos. This brought to light that the man behind the sharp looks of Spain’s top footballers is a local craftsman from Valencia.
A Family Legacy and the ‘Honorable’ Barbershop
Fernando Díaz’s success is no accident. He comes from a family of barbers and is the fourth generation to carry on the tradition. In 2012, to continue his family’s craft, he founded ‘Los Honorables,’ a men’s barbershop with a vintage British style, in the Patraix neighborhood of Valencia.
Thanks to his outstanding skills and unique aesthetic, the barbershop’s business flourished. To date, Fernando has opened three branches in Valencia. The location of one of these, adjacent to the home of Valencia CF, the Mestalla stadium, proved to be a pivotal turning point in his career.
The Go-To Hairstylist for Football Stars
Thanks to the convenient location, Carlos Soler and Ferran Torres, who were playing for Valencia at the time, became customers. They were quickly impressed by Fernando’s professional skills and became long-term clients. The fade haircut of Borja Iglesias and Ferran Torres’s signature style are all creations of Fernando.

Ferran Torres was instrumental in introducing Fernando to the world of elite football. As Torres transferred first to Manchester City and then to Barcelona, Fernando started making house calls, flying regularly to both cities. He does the same for Carlos Soler following his move to Real Sociedad. Furthermore, he has styled Luis Enrique, the former Spanish national team coach and Ferran Torres’s ex-father-in-law. Through referrals, his clientele expanded to include even French superstar Kylian Mbappé.
Cross-Industry Influence and Social Impact
Fernando Díaz’s influence is not limited to the world of sports. His clientele also includes several public figures. Well-known Spanish actor Fernando Tejero, rapper Langui, and former Mayor of Valencia Joan Ribó have all been patrons of his barbershop. From a neighborhood shop owner to an exclusive hairstylist flying to serve top global stars, Fernando Díaz has made a giant leap in his career with just a pair of scissors.
