Incident Details and Casualties
According to police sources, the incident occurred on the evening of August 9 in the Puente de Vallecas district of Madrid. A group brawl involving multiple people escalated into an armed fight, with several individuals using knives and other sharp objects to attack each other, leading to a chaotic scene.
Several women were stabbed during the conflict. The injured individuals went to a nearby medical center on their own for treatment. Unfortunately, one of the women succumbed to her severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital despite medical efforts. Another injured person is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
Police Response and Arrests
Upon receiving the report, Spanish police quickly launched an investigation. To date, law enforcement has legally arrested four suspects connected to the case, including two men and two women.
It is understood that one of the suspects was apprehended by the Madrid Municipal Police (Policía Municipal de Madrid). The four detainees are initially facing charges of participating in a riotous brawl, and a full investigation into the case is underway.
Homicide Unit Takes Over the Case
Given the severity of the case, especially the resulting fatality, it has been officially handed over to the Homicide Unit (Group VI) of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of the National Police (Grupo VI de Homicidios de la Brigada Provincial de Policía Judicial).
This specialized unit will conduct an in-depth investigation into the cause, motive, and detailed circumstances of the homicide to determine the legal responsibilities of all individuals involved.
