A severe case of kidnapping and abuse has recently occurred in Spain. The Spanish National Police (Policía Nacional) successfully intercepted a male suspect in the province of Zamora, near the border with Portugal, rescuing his girlfriend whom he had unlawfully detained and violently abused. The man was arrested as they attempted to leave the country, and the victim was immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Urgent Report Uncovers Abuse
The investigation began with an urgent report from the victim’s mother. She informed the police that her daughter might have been kidnapped, providing crucial evidence: a photo of her daughter’s severely injured face and a desperate voice message pleading for help. Upon receiving the report, police treated the case with high priority, immediately activating an emergency response protocol and quickly identifying the suspect and his vehicle.

Cross-Province Pursuit and Border Interception
According to the police investigation, the suspect’s violent acts began in Madrid. After torturing his girlfriend, he forced her into a car and began a journey across several provinces. The vehicle traveled through Ávila, Valladolid, and Zamora. The day after the report was filed, through coordinated cross-regional tracking, the police finally intercepted the suspect’s vehicle on the border line in Zamora province, near Portugal, thwarting his escape plan.
Victim Traumatized, Shocking Details of Abuse Emerge
When rescued, the victim was in a state of severe physical and psychological distress. Police revealed that she had suffered brutal physical torment, with bruises from beatings all over her body and particularly severe facial injuries. In a more gruesome detail, the abuser had even burned the inside of her mouth with a cigarette. During the two days she was held captive, the victim was completely deprived of her freedom and any contact with the outside world, living in a constant state of extreme fear.
Suspect’s Attempt to Cover Up Crime Fails, Faces Multiple Charges
During a search of the vehicle, police discovered the suspect’s preparations to conceal his crimes. He had bought clean clothes to replace the victim’s blood-stained garments and had purchased water and cleaning supplies, repeatedly washing the blood from the victim’s face to hide her injuries. Additionally, police seized ropes, black plastic sheeting, and upholstery cleaner from the car—tools that could have been used for further criminal acts. The man has now been handed over to the judicial authorities, facing several serious charges including unlawful detention, assault, and gender-based violence. A court has ordered his immediate remand in prison pending trial.
