Robbery Unfolds: A Tense Moment Before Breakfast
The incident occurred around 10 AM on Thursday at the Mía María 2 restaurant, located in the Marinasol residential area at kilometer 14 of La Manga, Murcia. As employees were preparing for the morning’s breakfast rush, two men of North African descent burst in. One acted as a lookout at the door while the other rushed the cash register to steal money.
A ‘Hardcore’ Counter-Attack: The Veteran’s Wrestling Instincts
Confronted with the sudden attack, Álex, a 60-year-old employee, immediately intervened. The robber threatened him with a large knife, boasting a 25cm blade, and demanded money. However, Álex was not intimidated. Relying on his expertise in Lucha Canaria, a traditional martial art from the Canary Islands, he instinctively engaged the attacker in a hand-to-hand struggle.
