The Incident: A Violent Clash in the Park
According to the Spanish National Police, the serious violent incident occurred in a park in Valencia. During the incident, several individuals engaged in a fierce brawl using axes, knives, and various blunt objects. When police arrived at the scene after being alerted, they found a man with multiple stab wounds, seriously injured and unconscious. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Getaway and Further Harm
After the fight, some participants fled the scene in a previously stolen car to evade capture. During the chaotic escape, the vehicle also ran over another person involved in the brawl, further escalating the situation. The suspects are of North African descent, aged between 23 and 37.
Police Pursuit and Arrests
Subsequently, some of the injured suspects sought medical treatment at hospitals in neighboring cities, providing a crucial lead for the police. The Spanish National Police launched an investigation, eventually tracking all individuals involved to Valencia and the nearby city of Villarreal. Following a planned operation, the police successfully arrested all eight suspects, including the getaway driver.
Current Charges and Case Status
The eight arrested men now face multiple serious charges, including public affray, attempted murder, making serious threats, and vehicle theft. During the arrests, police seized an axe used in the crime, three mobile phones, and 1200 euros in cash. The stolen vehicle used for the escape has been recovered and returned to its owner. The case is currently under further investigation.
