Unexpected Incident: Unmanned Train Starts on Its Own
The accident happened around 2:50 PM this Saturday on the Capuchinos slope in Toledo, Spain. A tourist train, parked empty and without a driver at a regular stop, suddenly started moving on its own, rolling uncontrollably down the slope.
Tourist Injured: Italian Man Suffers Open Arm Fracture
During its descent, the train struck a 44-year-old Italian tourist. According to on-site reports, the victim suffered an open fracture to his arm. Emergency responders quickly arrived, provided first aid, and rushed him to the Toledo University Hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, the train cars were empty at the time, preventing a much larger-scale incident.
A Precarious Halt: Train Dangles After Crashing Near Alcázar
The runaway train did not stop after hitting the tourist, continuing for a considerable distance before finally crashing into a barrier near the Alcázar of Toledo and coming to a stop. On-site footage showed the front of the train precariously dangling over an embankment, creating a dangerous situation. This position posed significant challenges for the subsequent rescue and recovery operations.

To manage the incident, emergency services had to dispatch a heavy-duty crane to stabilize and remove the dangling train. As of 5:00 PM, more than two hours after the accident, the cleanup and recovery efforts were still underway.
