Recently, the Spanish National Police in central Madrid arrested a man accused of a series of violent home burglaries. According to official sources, the suspect is linked to at least 13 cases, and his violent and targeted methods have raised concerns in the local community.
## Burglar Targeted Older Homes by Kicking In Doors
The investigation revealed a clear pattern in the man’s methods. He specifically chose older residential buildings with weak security, particularly targeting apartments with old wooden or structurally weak doors. He typically used brute force, kicking the doors in to gain entry. Once inside, he would quickly search for small, high-value items such as jewelry, watches, and portable electronics, which are easy to carry and sell quickly.
## Summer Patrols Lead to Suspect’s Arrest
With the arrival of summer, there has been a rise in similar burglary cases. In response, the Spanish National Police intensified investigations and patrols in key areas starting this June. After continuous surveillance, police spotted the suspect on a street in central Madrid on August 18. He was wandering the area, acting suspiciously. Believing he was scouting for a new target, officers moved in and arrested him on the spot.
## Judicial Action and Accomplice’s Arrest
After his arrest, the male suspect was handed over to judicial authorities. The court has ordered him to be held in custody. He currently faces charges for 13 counts of violent burglary and one count of fraud. In the same operation, police also arrested the suspect’s female partner. Investigators believe she was responsible for fencing the stolen goods and has been charged with handling stolen property. During the arrests, police recovered several pieces of jewelry and a watch related to the cases.
Police are now working to verify the origin of the recovered items and are conducting a further investigation into the full details of the case to determine if there are any other undiscovered crimes.
