Incident Details: Patrol Officers Spot Anomaly in Early Morning
The incident took place around 7 a.m. on the morning of August 30 on the famous Malvarrosa Beach in Valencia, Spain. At that time, local police patrolling the area noticed the unusual behavior of a man and a woman near the beach loungers and approached to investigate. Almost simultaneously, a passerby also reported to the police that the woman appeared to be intoxicated and that the man might be committing an illegal act against her.
Resisting Arrest and Assaulting Police: Suspect Flees and Attacks Officer
When the police approached, the man involved realized he had been spotted, immediately got up, and fled. The police gave chase, and an officer ordered him to stop during the pursuit. However, the man suddenly turned and punched the officer, injuring one of them. Subsequently, with the combined effort of several plainclothes and uniformed officers, the man was finally subdued and taken to the police station for questioning.
Victim’s Condition and Suspect’s Information
According to the police at the scene, the victim is a 22-year-old young woman who was disoriented and showed clear signs of intoxication. The police immediately activated the standard protocol for sexual assault cases and arranged for female officers to provide assistance. The victim told the police that she had previously left a nearby nightclub for some fresh air before being approached and assaulted by the man. She was subsequently rushed to La Fe Hospital in Valencia for professional medical treatment and forensic examination.
The suspect is a 27-year-old Moroccan national who works as a construction worker. He has been formally arrested on suspicion of multiple charges, including sexual assault and assaulting a police officer.
