Around 6:30 PM this past Monday, a large-scale violent conflict broke out on La Pañería street in the San Blas district of Madrid, the Spanish capital. According to the Spanish National Police, multiple individuals participated in the brawl, using dangerous items such as machetes, bladed weapons, and blunt objects to attack each other, causing the situation to escalate.
Victim’s Condition and Emergency Response
In the intense confrontation, a 20-year-old young man was seriously injured. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment of two severe stab wounds, one to his side and one to his arm. Medical authorities have classified his condition as “serious.”
Details of the Police Arrests
Following the incident, police intervened swiftly. Officers first arrested two women involved at the scene, aged 37 and 40, who also received medical attention for minor bruises. Subsequently, police pursued and successfully apprehended four other suspects who were attempting to flee the scene by car. These four male suspects, aged between 16 and 25, include one minor. It is reported that during their escape, they also allegedly attempted to run someone over with their vehicle.
Suspects’ Background and Ongoing Investigation
The six arrested suspects include individuals of Dominican and Spanish nationality. Currently, five of them are charged with attempted murder, while the sixth faces a charge of property damage for losses caused during the escape attempt.
