Four Suspects Arrested in Madrid After Machete Threat on Coach
A public transport safety incident recently occurred in Madrid, the Spanish capital. In a joint operation, the National Police (Policía Nacional) and the Madrid Municipal Police (Policía Municipal de Madrid) arrested four men in the Tetuán district for suspected illegal possession of weapons and making threats. The incident originated from a heated dispute on a long-distance bus.
A Tense Moment on the Coach
According to the police report, the incident took place on August 30. A fierce argument broke out between two male passengers on a coach traveling from Alicante to Madrid. During the altercation, the two men threatened each other, and one of them suddenly pulled out a large machete, creating a highly tense atmosphere on board. Following the incident, the man with the machete and his three companions left the scene.
Rapid Police Response and Search
Upon receiving the report, police took the matter very seriously and immediately launched a joint search operation. Based on the physical descriptions of the suspects provided by witnesses, the National Police and Madrid Municipal Police narrowed down the search to the Tetuán district. After setting up surveillance and conducting searches, officers eventually located a group of individuals matching the descriptions.
Weapons Seized and Arrests Made
Police proceeded to legally search the individuals and their belongings. During the search, officers discovered several prohibited bladed weapons, including a large machete with a 45cm blade, as well as two other knives with blades measuring 19cm and 12cm respectively. With conclusive evidence, the police arrested all four suspects on the spot.

Currently, the four suspects have been handed over to the judicial authorities for alleged crimes of illegal weapon possession and making threats.
