Case Background and Frequency
During August and September of this year, the security situation in the jurisdiction of Boadilla del Monte within the Madrid region fluctuated, with a noticeable upward trend in forced burglaries targeting local dining establishments. These serial incidents not only caused direct financial losses to businesses but also heavily alerted local law enforcement. To maintain a secure business environment, the Spanish Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) swiftly intervened and launched a dedicated investigation into this series of crimes.
Criminal Modus Operandi and Disguise Strategies
Following on-site inspections and evidence collection, investigators discovered a highly consistent modus operandi. The suspects typically operated at night or during non-business hours, forcibly gaining entry by destroying exterior glass doors, windows, and other security closures. To evade surveillance tracking, both suspects wore dark clothing during the burglaries and strictly concealed their faces and heads. According to police records, using this violent breaking method, the group successfully broke into 4 restaurants, stealing a total of approximately 3,000 euros in cash and high-value items.
Key Clues and Arrest Operation
Although the suspects made extensive efforts to conceal their identities at the scene, a fatal negligence during their escape became the breakthrough of the case. While reviewing surrounding evidence, the Civil Guard discovered that the two criminal suspects fled the scene in a private car registered under their own names after completing one of the burglaries. Relying on this crucial vehicle clue, the police followed the trail and eventually locked onto the exact identities of the two Spanish men, aged 19 and 20.
Currently, the two youths involved have been lawfully arrested. Based on the preliminary police allegations, they will face multiple severe judicial charges, including suspected forcible burglary and participation in a criminal group. The case is now being transferred to judicial proceedings for further hearings.
