Having recently moved to Madrid, I wanted to put a foosball table in my apartment to play with friends. After visiting several sports stores, I found that the foosball table sizes in Spain are quite particular and differ from those I was familiar with back home. Today, I’ve compiled some related information that I hope will help others with similar needs.
Official Tournament Standard Sizes
According to the International Table Soccer Federation, the foosball tables used in official Spanish competitions must meet the following standards:
| Specification | Standard Size | Notes |
| Table Length | 120cm | Excluding handles |
| Table Width | 70cm | Standard tournament width |
| Table Height | 90cm | Suitable for adults |
| Goal Width | 10cm | Standard goal size |
| Goal Height | 6.5cm | Official certified height |
This size is mainly used for official competitions and professional training, with a relatively higher price. In some professional board game clubs in Barcelona and Madrid, almost all tables follow this specification.
Common Home Foosball Table Sizes
For general home use, the popular sizes of foosball tables on the Spanish market are as follows:
Standard Home Model: length usually ranges between 110-115cm, width 60-65cm, height 85-88cm. This size ensures a good gaming experience without taking up too much space. Most of the models I saw at Corte Inglés are of this size.
Compact Model: length 100-105cm, width 55-60cm, height 80-85cm. Suitable for apartments with limited space, such as the small units in old town areas like where I currently live.

Buying Tips and Considerations
When purchasing, besides size, several important factors should be considered. First is the material quality. Since Spain generally has higher humidity, it’s advisable to choose wood treated for moisture resistance or metal frames. Next is the quality of the rods; good rods should rotate smoothly without sticking.
Regarding price, standard home-sized foosball tables in Spain typically cost between 200-500 euros. If the budget allows, it is recommended to choose products over 300 euros, as the quality and durability are noticeably better. Cheap ones are really not worth it; a friend bought one for 150 euros, and after half a year, the rods started to become loose.
Finally, a reminder about space allocation. Beyond the Spanish foosball table size standards of the tables themselves, you should leave at least 80cm around for operation space. Especially considering the length of fully extended rods, which need around 25cm of extra space when pulled out fully. If your room is too small, you might consider foldable models. Although they are slightly less stable, they are a good choice for small apartments.
