Spain Visa Bank Statement Preparation Guide
Recently, while preparing my Spain visa documents, I noticed many people still have questions about bank statements. As someone who just successfully obtained a visa, I’d like to share some practical experience and important considerations.
Basic Bank Statement Requirements
According to official Spanish consulate requirements, bank statements must cover consecutive 3-month transaction records prior to application. Regarding amounts, it’s typically recommended to maintain an account balance following the standard of 65-90 euros per day. This means if you’re planning a 15-day stay, you need to prepare at least 1,000-1,350 euros as bank statement proof.

Bank Statement Format Requirements
Bank statements must be official documents issued by the bank, including the following information: account holder’s name, account number, transaction dates, transaction amounts, and account balance. Please note that online banking printouts are usually not accepted; you must obtain official statements with bank seals from bank counters or through official channels.
| Statement Type | Acceptance | Notes |
| Bank Counter Print | ✓ Accepted | Requires official bank seal |
| Online Banking Print | ✗ Not Accepted | Lacks official certification |
| Banking App Screenshot | ✗ Not Accepted | Not an official document |
Financial Flow Considerations
When preparing bank statements, never make large temporary transfers to inflate your balance. Consulate visa officers can easily identify unusual financial movements. The best approach is maintaining account stability and avoiding sudden large deposits before application. If you do need to supplement funds for your bank statement, it’s recommended to do so 2-3 months in advance and maintain normal usage records afterward.
Multiple Account Financial Proof
If a single account has insufficient funds, you can provide statements from multiple bank accounts as supplementary proof. However, note that all accounts must be under the applicant’s own name. Spouse or family member accounts are typically not recognized unless accompanied by appropriate relationship documentation.
Bank statements serve as crucial financial proof in Spain visa applications. By preparing in advance, maintaining account stability, and providing official bank documents as required for your Spain visa bank card, you should encounter no major issues. I hope this experience helps friends currently preparing their visa applications.
