I recently successfully obtained a Spanish visa in Dublin and wanted to share my experience with the entire appointment and application process. As a Spanish person living in Ireland, sometimes I need to return home to handle certain matters, or friends visiting need to process visas, so this process is quite useful.
Appointment System User Guide
The Spanish Consulate in Dublin uses an online appointment system. I recommend everyone start monitoring appointment times at least 2-3 weeks in advance. The system typically updates new appointment slots every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 AM. Remember to refresh the page on time, as popular time slots get booked quickly.

When booking an appointment, you need to prepare basic information including passport number, contact details, and approximate travel dates. Please note that appointments cannot be modified within 24 hours of confirmation, so be extra careful when filling out information.
Required Documents Checklist
Based on my experience, here is the complete list of required materials:
| Document Type | Specific Requirements |
| Passport | Valid for at least 6 months, minimum 2 blank pages |
| Photos | 2 recent color passport photos, white background |
| Application Form | Fill online and print with signature |
| Insurance | Covering Schengen area, minimum €30,000 |
| Financial Proof | Bank statements from last 3 months |
Helpful Tip: All documents not in English or Spanish require official translations. I had to make an extra trip to a translation company because I forgot to translate my bank statements.
Interview Day Important Notes
I recommend arriving at the consulate 15 minutes early on interview day. The Spanish Consulate in Dublin is located in the city center with convenient transportation, but parking spaces near the Dublin Spanish visa center are limited, so I suggest taking public transport.
Staff usually conduct interviews in English, but if you speak Spanish, communicating in your native language makes the entire process smoother. Don’t be nervous - they mainly verify your travel purpose and the authenticity of your documents.
The entire application process takes approximately 5-10 business days. You can choose to collect your passport in person or have it mailed. Mail service costs an additional €15, but considering the convenience, I think it’s worth it. I hope this experience helps everyone - feel free to discuss any other questions in the comments!
