Recently preparing to apply for a Spain visa, I discovered there are quite a few processing agencies to choose from. I’d like to share the information I’ve gathered, hoping it will be helpful for friends preparing to apply.
Official Visa Application Agencies
Currently, Spain visa applications in China are mainly processed through two channels: VFS Global Visa Application Centers and direct application to Spanish Consulates. VFS Global is the visa application service provider designated by the Spanish government, with visa application centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenyang, Wuhan, Xi’an, Kunming, Changsha, Jinan, Chongqing and other cities. In comparison, direct consulate applications have fewer city options, mainly concentrated in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other major cities.

Pros and Cons Comparison of Different Agencies
| Application Agency | Advantages | Disadvantages |
| VFS Global | Multiple locations, standardized service, progress tracking | Higher service fees, long queuing times |
| Direct Consulate | Relatively lower fees, official direct processing | Few locations, difficult appointments |
| Third-party Agencies | Time-saving, professional guidance | Highest fees, additional service charges |
From my personal understanding, VFS Global’s service is relatively standardized. Although the fees are quite high, the process is clear, and you can check your application progress online through Spain visa agencies. If your city has a VFS center, I recommend prioritizing this channel.
Third-party Agency Services
Besides official channels, there are many third-party visa agency services in the market. These agencies typically provide document preparation guidance, appointment queue services, translation and certification services. However, you must be cautious when choosing agency services - I recommend selecting large, reputable agencies with proper business licenses.
It’s particularly important to note that regardless of which agency you choose, visa fees are fixed - the difference lies mainly in service fees. Official visa fees are approximately 60-80 euros, while agency service fees range from several hundred to over a thousand yuan. I suggest everyone choose the appropriate application method based on their time and financial situation.
If you have sufficient time and well-prepared documents, you can choose official channels for self-application. If time is tight or you’re unfamiliar with the process, finding a reliable agency is also a good choice.
