I recently successfully obtained an Australian tourist visa and would like to share my experience applying for an Australian visa from Spain. The entire process was smoother than expected, but there are some important points that require special attention.
Pre-Application Preparation
First, you need to determine the visa type. I applied for a subclass 600 tourist visa, which is suitable for short-term tourism and visiting relatives. After registering an account on the Australian Department of Home Affairs official website, you can begin the online application. I particularly remind everyone to apply only through the official website and avoid using Australian Spain visa third-party agencies to prevent unnecessary fees.
When preparing documents, be extra careful. Passport scans must be clear and complete, including all pages with visa records. Bank statements should preferably cover the last 3 months, with a reasonable balance maintained. If employed, an employer reference letter is also required.

Essential Document Checklist
| Document Type | Specific Requirements |
| Passport | Valid for 6+ months, scan all pages |
| Photo | Recent color passport photo meeting Australian standards |
| Bank Evidence | Last 3 months statements, balance proof |
| Accommodation Proof | Hotel booking or invitation letter |
| Flight Booking | Round-trip flight reservation |
The most error-prone part during application is personal information entry. All information must match your passport exactly, including name spelling and birth date. I had to contact the visa center to correct an address error.
Fees and Processing Time
The visa fee is approximately 150 Australian dollars, payable online by credit card. Official processing time is 15-30 business days, but in my experience, results came in about 2 weeks. Previously heard that pandemic delays occurred, but it seems processing has returned to normal.
It’s worth noting that Australian visas are now electronic. After approval, you’ll receive email notification without needing a passport sticker. When traveling, simply carry your passport and a printed copy of the visa grant letter. The entire application process went quite smoothly, and I hope this experience helps friends preparing to apply.
