Recently planning a trip to Spain, I discovered that applying for a visa individually can be quite expensive, so I wondered if I could find a few people to apply together as a group. After some research and practice, I found that group visa applications indeed have many advantages. Today I’m sharing my experience with everyone.
Advantages of Group Visa Applications
First, let me explain why you should consider group visa applications. The main reason is cost savings - many visa service agencies offer discount policies for group applications. For example, the agency we used charges 150 euros service fee for individual applications, but only 120 euros per person for groups of 5 or more, saving us 30 euros directly. Additionally, group applications provide better assurance in document preparation, as team members can remind each other and avoid missing important documents.

How to Organize a Visa Team
The key to group applications is finding suitable teammates. I found 4 other people through a forum post, all planning to visit Spain around similar times. I recommend keeping group size between 5-8 people - too few won’t qualify for group discounts, while too many becomes difficult to coordinate. It’s best to choose people with similar travel dates and the same visa type.
Here’s our team’s basic information comparison:
| Member | Travel Date | Visa Type | Expected Stay |
| Wang | June 15 | Tourist | 10 days |
| Li | June 20 | Tourist | 12 days |
| Zhang | June 18 | Tourist | 8 days |
| Chen | June 22 | Tourist | 15 days |
| Me | June 16 | Tourist | 11 days |
Document Preparation and Important Notes
Group visa applications require more meticulous document preparation. Each person’s documents must be complete, but formats and standards can be unified. We created a group chat in advance where everyone shared their document checklists and cross-checked each other’s materials. It’s particularly important to note that although it’s a group application, each person’s individual documents still need to be prepared independently.
The most important documents include: original passport and copies, visa application form, recent passport photos, flight booking confirmation, hotel reservations, travel insurance, bank statements, etc. We also prepared a detailed itinerary for our Spain visa group application, which looked more professional and improved our approval rate.
The entire process took about 15 working days, faster than expected. Initially worried that group applications might slow down the process, it actually went more smoothly due to better document preparation. In the end, all 5 of us successfully obtained our visas, and the London Spain visa group application costs were indeed much cheaper than individual applications. If you also need to apply for a Spain visa, I recommend considering the group application approach.
