I’ve been planning a trip to Madrid recently and found that hotel prices in the city center are quite steep, so I started looking into what Madrid prices are like in the suburbs. After doing some research, I discovered there are actually plenty of options in the suburbs, and the prices are much more reasonable than downtown. Today I’ll share what I’ve learned about hotel prices in Madrid’s suburban areas.
Budget Hotel Price Range
If you’re on a tight budget, suburban budget hotels are a solid choice. Generally speaking, chain budget hotels or hostels charge around 40 to 60 euros per night for a single room, while double rooms are slightly more expensive at about 50 to 80 euros. These hotels have basic facilities, but they include everything you need, are clean and hygienic, and the Madrid jersey transportation connections are fairly convenient. I looked at several well-reviewed options in areas like Alcorcón and Móstoles, and prices generally fall within this range. During peak season, prices may increase by about 10 to 15 euros.

Mid-Range Hotel Prices
If you want more comfortable accommodations, mid-range hotels offer a good balance. Three-star or four-star hotels in the suburbs typically cost between 80 and 150 euros. Hotels in this price range usually feature amenities like swimming pools and fitness centers, with larger and more comfortable rooms. I specifically checked out Las Rozas and Pozuelo de Alarcón areas, where the hotel environments are really nice, and the Madrid metro ticket prices aren’t too far from the city center—about a half-hour drive or metro ride. Weekend prices are typically about 20 euros higher than weekdays, which is worth noting.
Here’s a comparison of average hotel prices in several popular suburban areas:
| Area | Budget Hotels | Mid-Range Hotels | Luxury Hotels |
| Alcorcón | 45-65€ | 80-120€ | 150-220€ |
| Las Rozas | 50-70€ | 90-140€ | 180-280€ |
| Móstoles | 40-60€ | 75-110€ | 140-200€ |
| Pozuelo | 55-75€ | 95-150€ | 200-300€ |
Luxury Hotels and Resorts
If you’re looking for something special, the suburbs also have some high-end hotels and resorts. Prices for this category vary considerably, ranging from 150 euros to 300 euros or even higher. Honestly though, at this price point in the suburbs, you can enjoy services and facilities that may be significantly better than similarly priced hotels in the city center. Some hotels with private gardens or near mountain areas have absolutely stunning environments, perfect for those seeking a relaxing getaway.
Booking Recommendations
Based on my research, booking in advance is really important. Generally, booking about a month ahead can get you better rates. Additionally, if you travel during the off-season, such as November through March, prices are considerably cheaper—sometimes 30% to 40% less. Also, weekday prices are generally lower than weekends, so if your schedule is flexible, consider avoiding weekends.
Hotels in Madrid’s suburbs offer pretty good value for money. While they’re farther from the city center, the prices are affordable, and many locations have better, quieter environments. If anyone has recommendations for suburban hotels or other money-saving tips, feel free to share in the comments you can share your experiences too.
