As someone who has lived in Madrid for many years as an international student, I’m often asked where Universidad Politécnica de Madrid is actually located. This question isn’t easy to answer because UPM doesn’t have just one campus - it’s distributed across multiple locations throughout different areas of Madrid. Today I’ll give you detailed information about the specific locations of each campus.
Main Campus Distribution
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid has four main campuses, located in Ciudad Universitaria, Montegancedo, the Southern Campus, and the City Center Campus. The largest campus is in Ciudad Universitaria, where major schools including the School of Architecture and the School of Industrial Engineering are concentrated. The address is Avenida Ramiro de Maeztu, 7, and you can get there by taking Metro Line 6 to Ciudad Universitaria station.

Detailed Campus Addresses
The table below organizes the specific information for the main campuses for easy reference:
| Campus Name | Address | Nearest Metro Station |
| Ciudad Universitaria | Avenida Ramiro de Maeztu, 7 | Ciudad Universitaria |
| Montegancedo | Avenida de Montepríncipe, Boadilla del Monte | Bus transfer required |
| Southern Campus | Calle Alan Turing, Getafe | Los Espartales |
| City Center Campus | Calle de San Bernardo, 44 | Noviciado |
Transportation Tips
The Ciudad Universitaria campus has the most convenient transportation with direct metro access. However, if you need to get to the Montegancedo campus, it’s more complicated. I recommend driving or taking the C-10 bus from Moncloa, which takes about 40 minutes. The Southern Campus has Metro Line 12 access, but you should still allow at least one hour from the city center.
The San Bernardo campus in the city center is mainly the old campus of the School of Architecture, located in the Malasaña area with a lively surrounding neighborhood. Parking is very difficult to find though, so taking the metro is still recommended. The building itself has significant historical value and is worth visiting.
It’s important to note that different schools are located on different campuses, so make sure to confirm which campus your department is on before registration to avoid going to the wrong place. I made that mistake on my first visit and wasted an entire morning. Additionally, there are shuttle buses connecting the campuses, but they don’t run frequently, so I suggest checking the schedule in advance.
