Madrid Restaurants with Convenient Parking
The biggest headache when driving to restaurants in Madrid is finding parking. Those popular spots in the city center may taste great, but every visit means circling around forever looking for a space, sometimes having to park far away and walk back. Over the past few months, I’ve been keeping track of restaurants with easier parking situations, and today I’m sharing my findings with you.
Restaurante La Máquina
I’ve been to this restaurant in the Chamartín district several times, and its biggest advantage is having its own small parking lot. While spaces aren’t abundant, you can usually find one on weekdays. They serve traditional Spanish cuisine, with excellent roast lamb and paella at reasonable prices – around 35 euros per person. The parking entrance is a bit hidden on a side street next to the restaurant, so you might need to look for it on your first visit.

Below is a comparison of parking situations at several restaurants I frequent, including Madrid Royal Restaurant:
| Restaurant Name | Parking Type | Walking Distance | Notes |
| La Máquina | On-site parking | 0 minutes | Limited spaces, arrive early |
| El Club Allard | Street meters | 2 minutes | Many free periods on weekends |
| Casa Marcelo | Nearby parking garage | 5 minutes | Garage charges 3€/hour |
| Taberna del Alabardero | Valet parking | 0 minutes | Tip around 5€ expected |
Suburban Options
If you don’t mind driving a bit farther, several restaurants in Las Rozas have absolutely no parking issues. El Invernadero, a Michelin-starred restaurant, is surrounded by free parking spaces, and the Madrid restaurants environment is very peaceful. However, reservations are necessary, especially on weekends. Prices are high, averaging over 70 euros per person, but it’s definitely worth an occasional visit.
Practical Tips
From my experience, weekday lunch hours offer the least parking pressure. Many business district restaurants have relatively available nearby spaces during lunch, and lunch menus are usually much cheaper than dinner. Also, those tourist restaurants around Puerta del Sol – don’t even think about driving there; parking nearby is a nightmare.
One final reminder: street meter parking in central Madrid is free during many weekend and holiday time slots. You can download an app to check specific hours. Sometimes walking a bit extra to find a free meter period is much more economical than paid parking garages.
