Last month when flying back from Madrid, I finally got my hands on the coveted Real Madrid home jersey at Terminal T4 of Barajas Airport. I had checked prices at the Bernabéu Stadium in the city center before but thought it was a bit expensive, so I didn’t buy it then. Surprisingly, the airport store had similar prices and offered tax refunds, making it actually more cost-effective. Today I’m sharing this Madrid Derby shopping experience with everyone, hoping it helps those planning to buy jerseys at the airport.
Store Location and Opening Hours
The official Real Madrid store is located on the departure level of Terminal T4. After passing through security, head towards the duty-free area - it’s near the M gate area. The store isn’t particularly large, but the windows are filled with various jerseys and memorabilia, making it easy to spot. I arrived around 8 AM and the store was already open. According to the staff, they open at 6 AM and stay open until around 11 PM, covering most flight times. I recommend allowing at least 30 minutes for shopping, as trying on jerseys and processing tax refunds takes some time.
Jersey Styles and Price Comparison
The store has a decent selection of jersey styles, mainly including:
| Jersey Type | Price Range | Notes |
| Adult Home Jersey | €90-120 | Name/number printing +€15 |
| Adult Away Jersey | €90-120 | Name/number printing +€15 |
| Youth Jersey | €65-85 | Limited sizes |
| Retro Jersey | €110-150 | Limited styles |
I bought the 24-25 season home jersey without printing, which cost €95 - about €5 cheaper than the official city center store. If you want to add a player’s name and number for the Madrid Derby, it costs an additional €15 and takes about 10-15 minutes. I originally wanted Bellingham’s number 11, but considering my flight time, I gave up and just bought the blank version.

Sizing Recommendations
Here at the Madrid Airport Real Madrid Store, I need to specifically mention sizing issues. European jerseys tend to run slim-fit. I usually wear size L, but after trying it on, I found it a bit tight and ended up choosing XL for a better fit. The staff are very professional and will proactively suggest you try things on - the fitting room is at the back of the store. Don’t be shy about trying things on; given the price, you definitely want to ensure the size is right before buying. Additionally, women’s jerseys have their own specific cut - they’re not just scaled-down versions, so female fans should try the women’s fit.
Tax Refund Process is Simple
The advantage of buying at the airport is direct tax refund processing. When checking out, tell the staff you need a tax refund and they’ll give you a tax refund form - just fill in your passport information and credit card number. Then take the form and jersey to the Global Blue counter for stamping; the counter is nearby. I chose credit card refund, and received the refund in about two weeks - approximately €13, equivalent to a 15% discount. If you have sufficient time, you can also choose cash refund, though the service fee is slightly higher.
Buying Real Madrid jerseys at Madrid Airport is a great choice - fair prices, adequate selection, and most importantly, tax refunds. The only downside is you need to allow extra time if you want name/number printing. By the way, the store also has scarves, hats, keychains and other small souvenirs ranging from €5 to €30, perfect for bringing back as gifts. Wishing everyone success in getting their desired jerseys - Hala Madrid!
