I’ve been following Real Madrid’s matches closely lately, and I feel this season’s squad is really worth watching. As a long-time La Liga fan, I’d like to discuss Madrid’s current starting player configuration at La Liga headquarters.
Changes in the Attack
When it comes to Real Madrid’s offense, Vinícius is absolutely the star player now. This Brazilian talent has improved so significantly over the past two years—his speed is incredible and his technique keeps getting more refined. Bellingham has immediately integrated into the team since arriving from the Premier League, and his ability to push forward and score is truly impressive. Rodrygo has also been consistently reliable, and while he may not be as flashy as Vinícius in Madrid’s mini La Liga, he always steps up in crucial moments.

Midfield Configuration
In midfield, Modrić may be getting older but he’s still at the top of his game—his passing vision and rhythm control remain world-class. After Kroos’ retirement, the team’s midfield organization has certainly changed, but Camavinga and Tchouaméni, these two young players, are developing rapidly. Valverde’s all-around performance also gives Ancelotti more tactical options.
Here’s a comparison of basic stats for several key players from Madrid’s La Liga teams:
| Player | Position | Age | Goals This Season |
| Vinícius | Left Winger | 24 | 8 |
| Bellingham | Midfielder | 21 | 6 |
| Rodrygo | Right Winger | 23 | 4 |
| Modrić | Midfielder | 39 | 1 |
Defensive Stability
In defense, the Rüdiger and Militão partnership is quite solid. Carvajal’s experience on the right flank is irreplaceable, and Mendy has been performing well at left-back after regaining his form. With Courtois back, the goalkeeper position is more secure—his injury period definitely had fans worried.
Personal Thoughts
This season, Real Madrid’s squad depth is better than last season. The mix of young players and veterans is well-balanced, combining experience with energy. However, I think the striker position is still somewhat weak. While Jović can fill in occasionally, it feels like we’re missing a true number 9. Ancelotti is currently addressing this by having Bellingham or other midfielders push forward.
Do you think Real Madrid can win La Liga this season? The competition from Barcelona and Atlético is quite intense. Feel free to discuss!
