Recently had a craving for Korean BBQ and tried several places in Madrid. I thought I’d share my experience with everyone. After all, finding authentic Asian cuisine in Spain isn’t easy, especially Korean BBQ.
Overview of Korean BBQ Restaurants in Madrid
Korean restaurants in Madrid are mainly concentrated in the city center and Tetuán district, with prices ranging from 20 to 40 euros per person. Most restaurants offer BBQ set menus that include various meats, kimchi, and side dishes. Some places offer self-service grilling, while others have waiters help with the grilling—each has its own charm.

Several Recommended Restaurants
I’ve compiled basic information about the places I’ve recently visited, including Madrid Korean fried chicken spots:
| Restaurant Name | Area | Average Price | Specialty |
| Goa | Tetuán | 25-30€ | Wide variety of BBQ, abundant side dishes |
| Hanok | Chamberí | 30-35€ | Great atmosphere, perfect for gatherings |
| Obbá | Centro | 20-25€ | Great value, generous portions |
Personal Experience Sharing
My go-to place is Goa in Tetuán. Although it’s not in the city center, it’s still fairly accessible. Their pork belly is excellent quality—not too fatty—and comes out crispy on the outside and tender inside when grilled. They’re also generous with side dishes, and the kimchi tastes quite authentic. The only downside is it gets crowded on weekends, so I recommend booking in advance.
Hanok in Chamberí has a more refined atmosphere and is slightly pricier. It’s a good choice for dates or business dinners. Their beef platter is top quality, and the service is more attentive.
Dining Tips
When going to Korean BBQ restaurants, here are a few suggestions: Try to avoid Friday and Saturday evening peak hours, or you might have to wait a long time. Most places have set menus that are more economical than ordering à la carte. If you’re unsure what to order, start with a basic set menu.
Remember to wear clothes you don’t mind getting smoky. Although all restaurants have ventilation systems, the BBQ smoke will still cling to your clothes. After the meal, your clothes will inevitably have some odor—it’s unavoidable.
The Korean BBQ restaurants in Madrid are quite decent. While they can’t compare to those in Seoul, being able to enjoy such Korean food in Spain is already quite good. Give them a try when you have the chance, and remember to book ahead!
