I’ve been following Real Madrid’s matches lately, and I feel this season’s lineup is truly formidable. As a fan who has lived in Madrid for many years, I’d like to share my thoughts on the current squad.
The Luxurious Forward Line
Mbappé’s signing this summer was absolutely blockbuster news. Since the French superstar donned the number 9 jersey, the trident he forms with Vinícius and Rodrygo has been incredibly exciting to watch. Mbappé’s speed and shooting ability need no introduction, Vinícius has improved tremendously in recent years, and everyone saw his performance in last season’s Champions League final. Although Rodrygo isn’t the most dazzling player, his consistency and ability to score in crucial moments are genuinely important.

The Creative Core of Midfield
Bellingham's performance since joining last year has been truly surprising. This English youngster can not only score goals but also excels in organization. Modrić, despite being 39 years old, maintains excellent form. His passing vision and experience are invaluable to the team. Valverde is the engine of the midfield, with tireless stamina and outstanding interception ability—he’s one of Ancelotti’s most trusted players. Camavinga and Tchouaméni represent the future, with both offering extensive defensive coverage.
| Position | Starting Players | Substitute Players |
| Forward | Mbappé, Vinícius | Rodrygo, Díaz |
| Midfield | Bellingham, Modrić | Valverde, Camavinga |
| Defense | Carvajal, Rüdiger | Militão, Mendy |
| Goalkeeper | Courtois | Lunin |
The Solid Defensive Guarantee
In the backline, the Rüdiger and Militão partnership is very stable. Rüdiger brings strong physical presence, while Militão offers pace—they complement each other well. As a veteran, Carvajal brings rich experience and decent attacking support. At left-back, Mendy has recovered well. Although not as sharp as during his Cristiano Ronaldo’s Madrid career peak years, he remains very reliable defensively. In goal, Courtois has reclaimed his starting position after recovering from injury, and his shot-stopping ability ranks among Europe’s elite.
Honestly, Real Madrid’s squad depth this season is much stronger than before. Young players like Arda Güler and Brahim Díaz can step up during rotation, which is crucial for a team competing on multiple fronts. Ancelotti now has plenty of cards to play, allowing different tactical approaches for different matches.
Looking at the overall picture, this Real Madrid squad has both experienced veterans providing leadership and energetic young players bringing dynamism, achieving excellent balance between attack and defense. The only concern might be Real Madrid players’ nationalities injury issues—hopefully all key players can stay healthy. As a Real Madrid fan, there’s genuine reason to expect more trophies this season, especially the Champions League, after all, it’s Madrid’s home turf. How many titles do you think Real Madrid can win this season?
