Madrid Weekend Sports Scores Roundup
This weekend’s sports events in Madrid were truly spectacular. As a long-time follower of local sports and Real Madrid transfers, I’ve compiled the main match results to share with everyone. Whether you’re a die-hard Real Madrid fan or an Atlético supporter, this weekend’s games are worth revisiting.
Football Match Results
Real Madrid played beautifully, securing a 3-1 home victory. They took the lead within 20 minutes of kickoff and scored two more goals in the second half to completely seal the win. Atlético Madrid’s match was more tightly contested, ending in a 2-2 away draw. While they couldn’t secure all three points, considering the opponent’s strength, it’s an acceptable result. Getafe had a bye this round and will play next week.

Basketball League Updates
Real Madrid’s basketball team continues their dominant form, defeating the visiting team 89-76 at home. This team’s defense is getting increasingly solid, allowing only 12 points in the third quarter. Estudiantes also performed well, winning by 5 points away, currently sitting mid-table in the league standings.
| Team | Score | Opponent | Home/Away |
| Real Madrid | 3-1 | Sevilla | Home |
| Atlético Madrid | 2-2 | Villarreal | Away |
| Real Madrid Basketball | 89-76 | Baskonia | Home |
| Estudiantes | 78-73 | Manresa | Away |
Weekly Highlights Review
The most impressive moment this week was Real Madrid’s bicycle kick goal - Vinícius’s speed and technique are simply unmatched. Although Atlético didn’t win, Griezmann’s two assists were of high quality; unfortunately, the forwards’ finishing ability was lacking. In basketball, Real Madrid’s three-point shooting accuracy reached 45%, a top-tier stat across the entire league.
Next week brings the Madrid Derby - Real Madrid versus Atlético Madrid. This match is guaranteed to be explosive. Both teams are currently neck and neck in the standings, as seen in Madrid vs Liverpool discussions, and whoever wins will secure a more favorable position in the table. What do you think the result of this derby will be? Personally, I’m leaning towards a low-scoring affair, maybe 1-0 or 2-1, as derbies are traditionally defense-oriented.
Fan Match Experience
I went to the Bernabéu this weekend - the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. Although tickets aren’t cheap, being able to watch these stars play in person is definitely worth it. Parking remains difficult to find, so I’d recommend taking the metro. The food stalls around the stadium were doing brisk business - a bocadillo costs 8 euros, definitely pricey but the taste is decent.
