As the location of Spain’s third-largest city, the quality of higher education here is excellent, and the cost of living is lower than in Madrid and Barcelona. University of Valencia
The University of Valencia is the oldest and largest comprehensive university in this region, founded in 1499. The university has three main campuses distributed throughout the city and surrounding areas. Humanities and social sciences are its strong suits, particularly linguistics, history, and psychology, which rank highly nationwide. The campus environment is quite pleasant, with the Blasco Ibáñez campus featuring plenty of green spaces suitable for studying. Regarding tuition fees, undergraduate students pay approximately 1000-1500 euros per year, while graduate programs are slightly more expensive.
Polytechnic University of Valencia
The Polytechnic University of Valencia is the top choice for engineering students. Architecture, engineering, and computer science are its flagship programs. This university has partnerships with many companies, offering abundant internship opportunities. The main campus is in Vera, a bit far from the city center, but transportation is fairly convenient with the Valencian Community League. Worth mentioning is that UPV has a strong innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere, with the university maintaining dedicated incubators to support student projects.

Cost of Living and Language Environment
Studying in the Valencian Community offers a relatively affordable cost of living. For accommodation, a single room in the city center costs about 400-600 euros per month, and it’s much cheaper if you live in the suburbs or share an apartment, as discussed by the Valencia head coach. Some people say prices are high here, but it’s actually reasonable. Daily expenses for food and transportation combined, 800-1000 euros per month is generally sufficient. Regarding language, besides Spanish, Valencian is also spoken in many places, though university courses are primarily taught in Spanish, with some graduate programs offering English options.
